The spicy wonton special was fire! Wasn't a fan of the lentil soup -usually it's my favorite but this had a lot of dill and didn't work well with those wontons. Found myself wishing they had some sides to order because I'm a small plates person but I'll go with friends next time to explore more dishes in one sitting. Service was quick, friendly and helpful.

I'm a foody and haven't eaten meat in over 40 years. The steak special--mmmmm. I hope it becomes part of the regular menu. Please! I think they should take it to Shark Tank! :D Scrumptious. They nailed the texture, taste, and preparation. What a treat for any diner, but especially a vegetarian/vegan!!! My carnivore boyfriend said it's indistinguishable from actual steak. Best vegetarian dumplings ever in the wonton soup: full of vibrantly delicious ingredients, fresh, and great firm wrapper. I loved the broth too. I hated to part with one of the wontons, but I had to give my boyfriend the pleasure of eating one. And the desserts are incredibly moist and high-quality. I can barely eat typical American desserts b/c of the oversweet mix of poor ingredients. I savor every bite of every dessert at Peacefood. There is real food in the desserts, like what seem like just enough chopped plumped raisins as a sweetener in the gluten-free, vegan dark chocolate loaf. I also appreciate the ambience at Peacefood. It's a place to unwind and enjoy yourself and your food.

So many delicious items on the menu here, including some amazing desserts. We got the banana bread scone and walnut cinnamon bun today and both were incredible. Highly recommend for delicious vegan food whether you're vegan/plant -based or not.

Since my last review in 2019, I have gone vegan and gone back here many many times over. Went yesterday for lunch with a colleague/friend and had the Japanese sweet potato sandwich which they serve with a radish salad. Delish. I usually don't do caffeine after 11 am or noon, but their turmeric ginger soy latte is so inviting on a cold day so couldn't resist. It was outstanding. Their service, as always, is friendly and efficient, even if a little ditzy :) but that is okay, it is part of the charm of this place.

I have been going to peacefood for more than 8 years now and it has always been my favorite vegan restaurant. Incredibly kind staff, speedy service, and amazing food. There is always ample seating and great ambiance for a family/friends dinner, date night, or solo meal. I always get the same two items, the pan fried Shanghai dumplings and the pfc tenders. The dumplings, which are my favorite dumplings in the city, have a bit thicker and chewier of a dough with a mushroom chive filling. Even as a mushroom-disliker, these are still incredible and would highly recommend. The chicken tenders are also a fan favorite, with non-vegan friends also enjoying them. If I had one recommendation for a change, I would love to see them use reusable metal cups for the dipping sauces rather than paper to generate less waste. Hope others continue to eat here and keep their business going, they deserve it!

Leaning into fall with @peacefoodnyc's seasonal menu full of warm and hearty dishes. Nothing screams comfort food than a plate of steak, mashed potatoes, and string beans. I'm a whole foods, plant-based type of vegan so I did not order this special. But a taste of it from my friend's plate had me shooketh. It had a deep, umami flavor. Clean. And the texture was natural. I want to say it was made out of mushroom. If you do know, please tell me. Else, I might just have to go back and order it for myself to find out. The mash and string beans just took it over the edge, with the potatoes soaking in that porcini mushroom gravy goodness and the sauteed beans adding a textured crunch. Layered in some sweets and closed the meal with a slice of the cashew cream cheesecake and peanut butter cheesecake served with a comforting mug of apple orange cider. Service was warm as always. It was a satisfying way to celebrate World Vegan Day.

The food is always excellent. When my friend is in town on business we always stop by.

I absolutely love Peacefood Cafe! Here's my list of orders: - PFC Seitan Medallion Focaccia Sandwich (substitute with PFC Unchicken Cutlet) - Chocolate Ganache - Ultimate Cheeseburger & Fries - Gingerade Enjoy your meal!

Came for lunch with low expectations given historical disappointing experiences with vegan (and gf) food but was blown away and will def be back. Visited for brunch and it wasn't too crowded so got a nice spacious seat towards the back. Staff were very attentive and had great explanations for each dish. Especially liked the chickpea fries (though a bit salty), dumplings and seitan sandwich. Pumpkin was also good and the carrot cake was moist and a larger portion than I expected.
